Flight operators from the UK include easyJet (easyjet.com), flying from London Stansted; Wizzair (wizzair.com), flying from Luton; and the Slovenian national carrier, Adria (Wadria.si), flying from London Gatwick. Slovenia is well connected to its four neighbouring countries – Austria, Croatia, Hungary and Italy – by both bus and train. Currently, there are international train services from Ljubljana to Zagreb, Vienna and Belgrade. There are more options by bus from Ljubljana, including services to Zagreb, Belgrade, Budapest and Sarajevo. Access to the Slovene coast is also straightforward: buses arrive daily from Trieste (Italy) and Pula (Croatia), and between April and October you can travel by catamaran between Venice and Piran/Izola.

Transport planning is often the foundation of a realistic itinerary. Rough Guides works with vetted Slovenia local experts who create personalized trip plans from scratch around arrival points, travel times, regional connections, and the way you prefer to travel. You can compare up to 3 different itineraries and refine the preferred route together with the local travel agent before the trip is finalized.
