With warm days and pleasantly cool nights, the weather in Corfu in April is ideal for travellers who struggle with scorching-hot summer temperatures.
The weather is also great for those who want to explore the island’s walking trails — the less stifling conditions make for a more pleasurable trekking experience.
Just be aware you will experience some rain, and the sea remains on the chilly side for all but the hardiest swimmers, and kids who never seem to feel the cold.
Come April, Corfu’s temperatures start to pick up. We’re talking an average daily maximum of 21°C, with an average daily minimum of 11°C.
As for the sea, as highlighted above, it remains pretty cold in April, with an average temperature of 17°C.
So, while the daytime weather is beach-suitable, you’d be better off planning strolls and comfortable sun-lounging than expecting to take dips in the sea.
In April, Corfu typically experiences 74mm of rainfall over 12 days. This is significantly less than March, which sees an average of 98mm of rain across the month.
Meanwhile, July — the driest month on Corfu — sees an average of just 9mm.

Located between the heel of Italy and the west coast of mainland Greece, lush, mountainous Corfu — one of the best Greek Islands — has long been loved by summer sun-seekers.
But summer isn't the only good time to visit this idyllic Ionian island. In fact, for travellers who are into culture and the great outdoors, April might just be one of the best times to visit Corfu.
That’s especially so if you’re hoping to bag a pre-peak-season bargain on flights and accommodation.
A word of warning though — don’t expect everything to be open from the beginning of April. Some hotels start their season in mid-April.

Though Corfu is a year-round destination, April sits in shoulder season, which — of course — means smaller crowds than you’ll see in the summer peak season.
All the better for enjoying the island’s beautiful beaches, even though the sea remains rather cold for swimming.
As is usually the case with low and shoulder season months, visiting Corfu in April also means you can expect lower costs when it comes to accommodation and flights. As always, though, book early to secure the best deals.

Showcasing the island’s rich flora, the Corfu Garden Festival will see a diversity of outstanding private gardens open to the public.
Held the week before Easter Sunday, Lazarus Saturday and Palm Sunday will be marked in Corfu on 27th and 28th April 2024.
Lazarus Saturday will see choral ensembles from across the island gather to perform the Carols of Lazarus at the Old Town Hall.
On Palm Sunday, Corfu Town will play host to a procession of the relics of St. Spyridon, patron saint of Corfu. Following the line of the town’s old Venetian walls, the procession features brass bands.
Come the evening, the Mantzaros Philharmonic Society will perform at the Municipal Theatre of Corfu.

Given the average temperatures in Corfu in April, you’ll want to come prepared for warm days that drop off during the evening and night.
As a result, you’ll need a mix of summer-style wear (light dresses, shorts and t-shirts) with light jackets, pullovers and longer attire for when the mercury drops.
It’s also advisable to bring a waterproof jacket and brolly — the weather in Corfu in April means you can expect some showers.
If you’re hoping to swim, and aren’t keen on braving the chilly sea, research accommodation options with heated pools.
While this is something you might overlook — or can do without— in July and August, April’s cool sea temperatures make warm pools more of a must-have.
Intro adventure? Being pretty warm but significantly cooler that the heady heights of summer, April is a mighty fine month to tackle the scenic Corfu Trail.
This 200 km walking route covers the entire island from Cape Asprókavos in the south to Áyios Spyrídhon beach in the north.
Taking in a sublime variety of terrain — from beaches to high peaks — experienced walkers can cover the whole route in around ten days.
Of course, you could opt to dip in and out of the full-scale trail experience and mix up chilling on the beach and exploring cultural sites with walking on the wilder side.
