Udaipur is about 400 kilometers (248 miles) from Jaipur. The distance between these two cities can be traveled by car in about 6-7 hours, depending on road conditions, the specific route, and stops along the way.
The drive is usually along National Highway 48 (NH48), which is generally well-maintained and offers scenic views of Rajasthan's landscapes.

The fastest way to get from Jaipur to Udaipur would be to fly by air, which would take about an hour excluding airport checks. In second place is to travel by bus or car, both of these options will take about 6-7 hours.

Traveling from Jaipur to Udaipur by air is the fastest and most efficient way to cover the distance between these two cities. Start by booking a flight ticket from Jaipur International Airport (JAI) to Udaipur Maharana Pratap Airport (UDR).
Several airlines operate daily flights and the travel time is usually around 1 hour, making this the fastest option. After landing at Maharana Pratap Airport, you will be about 22 km away from the center of Udaipur. You can easily take a cab or other modes of local transportation to reach your destination in Udaipur.

Traveling from Jaipur to Udaipur by train is a popular option that offers a comfortable and scenic journey through the picturesque landscapes of Rajasthan. To start with, you can choose a suitable train running between Jaipur and Udaipur.
The fastest but also the most expensive option would be the Vande Bharat Express. If you want to save a bit of money, you can also opt for other trains like the Mewar Express and the Chetak Express.
Depart Jaipur by boarding your chosen train at Jaipur Junction (JP) or Gandhinagar Jaipur Railway Station (GADJ). Jaipur Junction is the main railway station and offers more train options.
The train journey to Udaipur usually takes around 6.5-8 hours and during the journey, you will pass through the serene and rustic landscapes of Rajasthan that will give you an unforgettable experience.
On arrival in Udaipur, you will disembark at the Udaipur Railway Station (UDZ). From here, you can easily reach your accommodation or explore the city by local transportation such as cabs or auto rickshaws.

You can start by booking a bus ticket with one of the many bus operators offering flights between Jaipur and Udaipur. Buses of various categories, including standard, semi-low-floor, and sleeper buses, cater to different preferences and budgets.
Buses generally depart from Jaipur's main bus terminals such as Sindhi Camp or Roadways Bus Stand. The journey to Udaipur can take around 6-8 hours, depending on the type of bus, road conditions, and stops along the way.
Upon arrival in Udaipur, buses arrive at the city bus station located in the city center. From there, you can easily find local transportation such as an auto rickshaw or cab to get to your accommodation or explore the city.
