From there they develop an itinerary based on your travel desires. Our trip to England was to relive great memories from when we lived there in 1998-2001. And they put together a perfect itinerary for us. Jane, our travel consultant, stayed in touch with us regularly to ensure our needs were met and we had all the entrance tickets, train tickets and pick up times before we left on our trip. The trip was great and met all our expectations. And this happened on all other Rough Guides trips we have booked as well. So this was not a one off, lucky break for us. Thank you!”

“Jane D. did an outstanding job of taking care of the details and accomodating their tours to our interests. The personal tour of the Wicklow Mts. in ireland was exceptional. All of the hotels she arranged, in spite of Bank Holidays & school holidays were great. Only issue was final hire car, larger than requested but Avis worked with us to get a smaller vehicle.”

“I can’t begin to say what a wonderful experience it was to work with Rough Guides and especially Jane Davey. The Wales vacation that was planned for us was everything that we hoped for and more importantly, everything that we asked for. We had requested a specific type of accommodation and the two properties we were booked into were perfect. The easiest description was that the hotels had “character”. They had an “old world charm” but with up-to-date amenities. They were each centrally located and easy to reach by rail. Each location had courteous staff and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Additionally, each property had a restaurant with delicious food. The tours that were booked for us were all wonderful. We asked for the chance to see local landmarks and interesting places and each tour delivered on that request. Our guides were all friendly, knowledgeable and always on time. Finally, Jane arranged all our rail transfers, using her local knowledge. We always had the exact departure and arrival times and even the expected connection window. Her details made us feel like veteran travelers of a very busy rail system. Most importantly, when we did miss a connection, due to an airline issue, Jane’s attention to detail made us confident that we could make the necessary adjustments to get us back on schedule. It was also comforting to know that if needed, help from Rough Guides was only a phone call away. “The guide is knowledgeable, kind and very helpful. I do wish his English would be a little better. Sometimes it’s difficult to convey to him or understand what he is trying to tell us. But otherwise he is a great guide and eventually we do communicate after repeating ourselves. The trip has been wonderful and everything we have seen has been very interesting. However a few days we were done at 12-1pm and back to the hotel to essentially do nothing. Tomorrow nothing is planned and we are just spending the entire day at the hotel. We could have shortened the trip by a couple days had we known that. But overall we have enjoyed the trip and all we have seen and the guide has been very good.”
