Flight operators from the UK include Wizz Air (www.wizzair.com) and Air Serbia (www.airserbia.com), built from the remnants of the Yugoslav national airline JAT. Serbia’s rail connections with neighbouring countries are now fairly limited: from Belgrade there are currently two daily services to Budapest in Hungary, two to Podgorica (and Bar on the coast) in Montenegro, two to Skopje in Macedonia, one to Sofia in Bulgaria (via Niš), and one to Zagreb in Croatia. For the time being there are no services to Romania or Bosnia. No visas are needed for nationals of the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Republic of Ireland, or any EU country staying in Serbia for up to ninety days.

Transport planning is often the foundation of a realistic itinerary. Rough Guides works with vetted Serbia local experts who create personalized trip plans from scratch around arrival points, travel times, regional connections, and the way you prefer to travel. You can compare up to 3 different itineraries and refine the preferred route together with the local travel agent before the trip is finalized.
