Into the Khumbu Valley, Lukla to Phakding

Today you fly to the dramatic Lukla airstrip, the gateway to the Khumbu. On arrival, meet your private trekking guide and porter team, then step into a world without roads, where nearly everything is flown in and carried along ancient mountain trails.

Begin with a gentle descent into the Dudh Kosi valley, passing prayer wheels, mani stone walls, and small Sherpa hamlets. By afternoon, you reach Phakding, your first mountain lodge, where warm hospitality and riverside views offer a relaxed introduction to the Himalayas.

Day03

Trek to Namche Bazaar

Follow the riverside trail through tranquil pine forests toward Jorsale, one of the best places to visit in Nepal for its peaceful setting along the Dudh Kosi. Cross the river on simple plank bridges and swaying suspension bridges, adding a sense of adventure to the day.

Watch for your first distant glimpse of Everest’s summit rising above the Nuptse ridge. From here, the path climbs steadily for two to three hours to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar. Walk at a relaxed pace, pausing often to catch your breath, take photos, and allow your body to acclimatise naturally as the mountain views continue to open up.

Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar

Today is an important acclimatization day on your Everest journey, giving your body time to adjust while you experience the character of Namche Bazaar. Explore the lively village at your own pace, browsing local shops, relaxing in cozy cafes, and sampling fresh treats at the well-known German bakery.

Take a gentle walk to the Museum of Sherpa Culture for insight into local traditions and daily life, then continue to a nearby viewpoint for sweeping views of Everest and the striking peak of Ama Dablam. Stay active at a comfortable pace, stay well hydrated, and enjoy a day that balances rest with rewarding mountain scenery.

Namche to Tashinga via Khumjung

Climb steadily out of Namche into the main valley, where sweeping views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam unfold with every step. Pause at the Everest View Hotel for a drink, taking time to follow the route stretching out before you.

Continue along the trail as it descends gently into Khumjung for lunch, a traditional Sherpa village rich in culture and mountain life. Afterward, follow the Dudh Kosi Valley toward Tashinga, a peaceful settlement surrounded by dramatic peaks. Settle into your teahouse and enjoy a quiet evening with superb views of Thamserku and Kantega.

Pangboche and the Imja Valley

Trek along one of the most scenic sections of your Nepal itinerary, with sweeping views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and the distant summit of Everest accompanying you along the trail.

Descend to the Imja Khola footbridge, then climb through the forest to Thyangboche, home to its renowned monastery and classic views of the Everest and Lhotse massif alongside Kantega. After taking in the setting, continue down to the Imja Khola, cross to the opposite bank, and follow the river upstream.

A final gentle ascent brings you to Pangboche, a traditional Sherpa village with one of Nepal’s oldest monasteries. Here, extraordinary mountain views surround you, especially in the quiet light of morning.

Return to Namche Bazaar

Begin your return along the familiar trail toward Namche Bazaar, following quiet paths through terraced hillsides, forests, and traditional Sherpa villages. With the pressure of ascent behind you, the journey feels more relaxed, offering time to take in the details you may have missed before.

As you retrace your route, enjoy new perspectives of the Himalayan peaks, pausing at small teahouses for warm hospitality and freshly brewed tea. Return to Lukla

Day09

Return to Kathmandu

Enjoy a relaxed morning in Lukla, perhaps with a short stroll through the village while your porters take care of your baggage. In time, board the scenic flight back to Kathmandu, taking in the final aerial views of the Himalayan peaks and deep valleys below.

On arrival, you are met by your private driver and transferred to your handpicked hotel. With a late morning to midday arrival, the rest of the day is yours to unwind, reflect on your journey, and ease back into the rhythm of the city.

Bhaktapur and Patan Cultural Discovery

Discover medieval Bhaktapur with a specialist local guide, exploring its atmospheric, largely traffic-free lanes and beautifully preserved heritage. Visit Durbar Square, the Golden Gate, the 55 Window Palace, and the intricate Peacock Window, each reflecting the artistry of the Newar kingdom.

Continue to Potters’ Square to watch artisans at work, then pause for chai in a traditional Newari home, offering a warm glimpse into daily life. Later, travel to Patan, known as the city of beauty, and explore its elegant Durbar Square and sacred courtyards on foot.

In the evening, enjoy a Newari-inspired feast accompanied by folk music and dance at Bhojan Griha, before returning to your Kathmandu hotel.
