Everything happened when and as promised. With this being the New Year holiday the guides had some difficulty in regards to restaurants and some sights being open but the worked around it and made a very enjoyable

The transfer services were extremely efficient, the guides couldn't be more helpful, there was a good variety of local restaurants (some were a little touristy), and there were a lot of pagodas, monasteries and temples to visit.

Travelled for a week in Myanmar with friends. All planning with our local contact, WaiLin, was excellent - he responded to our needs and questions and designed us a wonderful itinerary. During the week, all the guides, drivers and boatmen were helpful, polite and knowledgeable, willing to adapt as we needed (some days were very hot so we had more rest time!). The hotels were lovely, and the meals out were delicious! Overall, the service was outstanding, and it was one of the best vacations I've been on. We are looking forward to doing more trips and have highly recommended to friends.

Excellent trip. Well organized, great guides, balanced itinerary. Terrific hotels with the exception of the offered room at the Amata Resort in Ngapali Beach, however the inadequacy was solved with an upgrade. Would recommend Backyard unconditionally.

As it was my first visit to Myanmar and I had only a few days, I wanted a customised experience rather than the usual package tour. Backyard Travel responded to my queries, took note of my interest and put together a fantastic itinerary. None of this endless visits to temples or souvenirs, but a really good mix of experiences with a nice pace.The history, heritage and culture of Myanmar are wonderful, but it was the chance to experience some of the day-to-day life (such as visiting markets, walking through the back streets and riding Yangon's circular train) that I loved.

You arranged my tour across Myanmar, in collaboration with the continental agency-colleague in Myanmar. I personally do not think any improvements could be made, both during the pre-planning and whilst traveling. The entire experience was extremely intuitive, as I easily communicated and cooperated with all involved members, including: the itinerary planners, and the near-dozen local guides on-site, across multiple towns and formats in the country. Both guiding and e-books for traveling across the world, and my only suggestion is that it offers customers further budget options, such as ultra-deluxe, or reduced-cost: -- My holiday resulted in a way that was just right for me, and I just wish that an even wider range of travelers may access you by having a more versatile offering of budgetary constraints. My flights domestically were not private, for example, but I believe customers should have the option to totally customize their plans if this is what they can afford. I noticed also that the e-books could recommend more 5 star hotels and Michelin-styled restaurant options, but the context and background summary of the country was perfect. For example, after reading the e-book, I was able to converse and have serious discussions with dozens of locals during my holiday, which is necessary for me as an Investor, PR personality, and public figure. Thank you!!!

2 days in Mandalay and then 3 days in Bagan. Both resorts, staff excellent. Accommodation in Mandalay was great althought the lighting was very poor in the rooms and communial areas, I couldnt see well enough to put the key in to open the door! The bathroom was 'dangerous' they had made a feature of the space between the bath and the bathpanel (6 inches) and you had to climb over and into the bath; small handrail and no way of getting out easily - one slip! Accommodation in Bagan was beautiful - the food was terrible. Items on the menu were not available but they didnt tell you this just made a poor subsititue hoping you wouldnt notice. I asked for mozzella cheese was given cheddar and told they it was mozzella, then it wasnt and then they would change my order. The same cheese labelled cheddar was at breakfast, sweating and insipid. Also the bath was 'weird' you had to climb into the bath to turn the water on???? Another 'feature' that looked great but was really dangerous considering the bath is elevated, surrounded by wood and no handrails to hold onto. All in all the trip and guides were great - definately will travel with you again!

We travelled to Myanmar in November 2019. Normally we prefer to be independent travellers and arrange overseas travel ourselves, but Myanmar seemed a little more challenging, given to numbers of location and activities we wanted to cover in a 10 day period. What we really liked was the ease of communication via the web portal, the responsiveness of the local agent and the staff in UK/US and the help we had in getting the itinerary, accommodation and experiences that we wanted. On the ground the guides were excellent and logistics were seamless. The only negative was a day long trek that we undertook. The second part of the day long trek turned out to be more physically challenging than we had been expecting, but nevertheless our guide that day was, attentive and caring. Overall we can't fault the service and the whole trip fully met and often exceeded our expectations.
