My husband and I went to Morocco for our honeymoon trip in October 2024. We had the absolute BEST time. This trip has been my favorite trip I've taken in my life. Our rough guides itinerary was perfect. We were able to stay in the beautiful riads in Marrakech and were surrounded by so much culture and history. Then we drove to a Kasbah in the Palm Oasis which was magnificent. The dinner meal there was our favorite. We then made our way to a desert safari where we got to ride camels and watched the sunset on the dunes. Everyone showed us immense hospitality and you can just feel the love and kindness they have in everything they helped us do. Our driver Moad made the experience EVEN BETTER. Our trip was a week long but we felt like we were driving around Morocco with one of our longtime friends. He didn't feel like a chauffeur at all. We sang and laughed and talked on our drives together and it made the hours pass by so quickly. We were just saying that we wished we could take us back home with us! We will miss him the most. We have been raving about our experience to all our family and friends. We hope to go back one day and will definitely do it again with Rough Guides. Thank you so much for a life changing trip.

Wonderful trip to Morocco My partner and I just returned from a 2 week trip to Morocco and we can’t express enough how much we appreciate all those at Rough Guides who made our trip unforgettable. I usually plan our trips, but was somewhat daunted by the large distances we needed to travel between our “must-see” locations and the unfamiliarity with the culture and language, but Rough Guides made it simple. I made the initial contact providing our dates, places we wanted to go, and types of accommodations we preferred, heard back quickly and after a few conversations with Jana had a trip plan! She arranged for a wonderful driver (Abdul was the best! Got us where we needed to go safely, and provided so much information and wonderful conversation), truly spectacular Riads in which to stay and the best guides in the locations we desired them. Morocco is a beautiful country with truly beautiful people, and Rough Guides made it possible for us to experience both. Thank you!

Our tour was fabulous. Ali was our driver and also one of our tour guides. We had a wonderful time -- Morocco is amazing and we cannot recommend Ali highly enough! He always communicated with us regarding pick up times and plans. He arrived on time. The drives in between destinations were longer than expected, but the beautiful landscape and Ali's skillful driving made it enjoyable. We always felt safe. Despite it being Ramadan (meaning no coffee or food for him) he remained alert and pleasant. We had great conversations on the road and he was open to our questions and gave thoughtful answers that gave us a deeper understanding of the country and its history. For the record, the guides that toured us in each city (Lahoucine in Marrakech, Laila in Fez, Hamid in Chefchaouen) were also wonderful, professional and knowledgable.

Our trip to Morocco orchestrated by Insight was an experience to share and remember for a long time to come. Our driver,Ali, was phenomenal as were the guides in every location. The riads, kasbad, and dessert tents all were fantastic with the exception of the last one. However the staff at each location were attentive to our every need. This is the first of future trips.

Overall the trip to Morocco organized by Rough Guides was great. From the drivers to the places we stayed to the sites we visited, it was all pretty smooth. The only thing that would have been nice to know in advance was someone mentioning it was Ramadan. Not a huge deal as we are a pretty flexible lot, but you would think the company would have mentioned that prior to the trip. It did affect/change our itinerary slightly but again, overall a positive experience

Our experience was amazing. Very well organized. During our stay there was a problem with a Riad , Insight guides solved the problem in a very professional way. My birthday dinner at Inara Camp was magic, unforgetable . Ali our driver was exceptional. Funny, very polite, punctual, attentive, always available to help us and give us information about the places. The car was always clean

Morocco is a wonderful place - I think everyone would benefit from its vibrancy, colour, history, food, people and the natural history of the beautiful land itself. We do not regret our trip to Morocco one iota. It's a photographer's paradise. Every day there is a new and rich landscape of colour and activity. My only regret is that we did not go there earlier in life. This trip was well managed and well coordinated by Rough Guides. The accommodation was good, ranging from boutique riads to decent guest houses. In all cases the breakfasts (and sometimes dinners) served were excellent and more than adequate. The hosts /staff were always helpful, obliging and and ready to assist in any way. Our drivers were also excellent. The main driver, Mohammed, who was with us for about 2/3 of the trip was an excellent guide, helpful in showing us interesting sites along the way and very knowledgeable of Morocco and its history, geography, customs. He was always obliging in showing us great photo/view spots and willing to stop at any point to allow us to get out and look around. he took us to panoramic views to see the sun rise and to see beautifully coloured Moroccan landscapes. There was no rush to get from oner point to another. Moreover, like the other drivers, he was excellent at his driving itself, taking sometimes precarious mountain roads with considerable expertise. We were sorry to see him go toward the end of the trip, although we were assigned to others that were very good for a few days each. Guides provided at each stop were also very good. The guide in the Draa Valley provided an excellent and informative walk through groves and agricultural area - he was able to weave current practices and local history into his explanations. The guide in Imlil was very good as well, taking us over interesting, manageable mountain trails and through small villages that consisted of narrow pathways, not streets. He even arranged lunch at a local home were we were treated to a very interesting and excellent meal, served in traditional fashion, sitting on cushions in front of a low table. Again, there the food was excellent and, also (again) more than we could consume, even after more than a half day of moderately energetic trekking. Guides in the cities were also good, able to answer any questions and showing us (mostly) sites of relevance. If there is one thing that we would like to avoid was the tendency of city guides to take us to places that showed craftsmen working, but also ended in shops, businesses that were selling in a fairly hard, direct, although friendly fashion. The pretence was to see how things were done, but the objective was to sell. By the time time we had got to Marrekesh (our third major urban stop) we had seen enough rug places, wood trinket places, weaving places and metal and pottery places to last us the rest of our lives. There is only so much we wanted and, I think, much to our Marrekesh guide's chagrin, we steadfastly refused to go into any more merchants. We just got tired of being proffered stuff we didn't want/had no use for over and over. All in all a great trip. I'd recommend it to anyone. Rough Guides treated us professionally and very well. We will certainly enlist their services on future travel to more exotic places.

We stumbled across Rough Guide while searching for a company that can organize a private tour in Morocco with a short notice. And we found a Gam! They worked with us on our expectations, interest, hotel level and recommended activities and experiences and it all went without a hitch! Yana, Jana, Hassan (our driver) and the local guides made this trip unforgettable! We are already looking to organize our next trip with them!

The places and the hotels in Morocco that were selected for the tour were fantastic. Also, the guides in each city we visited were very knowledgeable and friendly. However, we went during Ramadan and at first we were not aware that there were places for foreigners to eat during the day. It would be nice to know what to expect during Ramadan, and it did not diminish our experience.
