“Started using Rough Guides guide books years ago back when I was traveling on my own during my 20s. They have evolved into more than just guides and can help connect travelers to local tour companies to create trips. We used them for a 9 day private tour in Morocco and they connected us to Tilila Travel. Mohamed the tour company owner was fantastic, along with our driver Mohamed and our local city guides. It covered most of the main cities and attractions and we had such a great time, exploring and learning about such a rich culture. “What an amazing experience. My husband and I were looking to visit Morocco and were not keen on a self-drive (which I still do not recommend) and also did not want to join in a group. We did have the option of taking a private tour with a South African operator but decided on Tilila Travel through Rough Guides. It turned out to be the best choice. They helped us with the planning of the route, suggested sites and activities, arranged all the local guides, accommodation etc, and even arranged for a Moroccan sim card (which worked better than the E-sim in rural areas). Always very quick to respond to our request and help with the visa applications. Our personal guide Tawfiq met us at the airport, and was on call through the trip, for pickups and transfers, meeting with guides, suggesting restaurants, finding banks, warning us of scams – you name it. We were so pampered. But even better, from the start we told Tawfiq that we wanted to have an authentic experience, and that is what he gave us: - a meal with a Berber farmer and his family; cooking classes in a Marrakech home; a picnic Moroccan style among the Rabat locals, and so many tales and insights. He went beyond the itinerary so that we could experience the true Moroccan culture, away from the more touristic spots. Tawfiq treated us like royalty, and we felt safe in his charge . We will definitely use Tillia and Rough Guides again.”

They arranged beautiful lodging, sensible schedules, and excellent local tour services. A great outfit to deal with. Our driver Tawfiq was a hoot. We spent many hours on the road in conversation about Morocco and life on both sides of the ocean. He had boundless energy and enthusiasm, and always bent over backwards with great local advice for touring, eating, and sightseeing. We all laughed and sang a lot on our long travel days, while we listened to his playlists of Moroccan folk and dance music. He was on call for us in the evenings, and drove us to restaurants and entertainment, taking all of the worry out of navigating the cities. Tawfiq was more like a travel buddy than a driver, and infinitely better than Uber!”

“Everything was very organized, and timely, great communication throughout the trip. We had knowledgeable guides in every city/point of interest to explain the history and significance of sites. Mustapha drove us all over the country and told us about the culture, and traditions of Morocco. He also took us off the beaten path and introduced us to some of the locals. It was a very memorable experience, and we hope to come back to see more of Morocco.”

“We had a fantastic experience from planning through the end of the tour. Mohamed is an expert and he worked with us to learn about our preferences and expectations, then he prepared the itinerary. He checked in with us during the journey and we felt that he was truly looking after us. Our driver, Abdel, was kind and friendly. He was flexible and able to make adjustments based on our (ever changing) interests. Abdel was a great guide and support. The local guides in Fez and Marrakech were very knowledgeable and great communicators. We felt very well taken care of. This was a family holiday (including two college age boys), and we all were very happy. This holiday exceeded expectations and it would not have been possible without Tilila Travel.”
