Discover what makes Madagascar unforgettable

Dive into Madagascar’s crystal-clear waters and explore vibrant coral reefs teeming with life. Nosy Be is perfect for snorkeling, whale-watching, or relaxing on idyllic beaches. For something truly unique, swim alongside whale sharks or discover hidden coves by kayak. Madagascar’s marine world is as diverse as its land.

From the jagged limestone peaks of Tsingy de Bemaraha to the pristine rainforests of Ranomafana, Madagascar’s landscapes are unlike anywhere else. Hike rugged trails, explore caves, or marvel at rare plants like orchids and palms. This island’s dramatic and otherworldly scenery will leave you spellbound at every turn.

Witness the surreal Avenue of the Baobabs, where ancient trees tower like natural skyscrapers. Visit at sunrise or sunset, when the light casts long shadows over the landscape, turning it into a photographer’s dream. These majestic “upside-down trees” are a symbol of Madagascar’s wild beauty and make for an unforgettable sight.

Madagascar is the only place on Earth where you can see lemurs in the wild, from the iconic ring-tailed species to the playful sifaka. Walk through lush rainforests like Andasibe-Mantadia, where their calls echo through the trees. Watching these unique creatures leap from branch to branch feels like stepping into a nature documentary come to life.

7-day couple trip to Madagascar
“With a bit of delay, we would like to thank Rough Guides for excellent arrangements of our tour of Madagascar on 23-29 October. We were impressed by the professionalism, attention and overall service of all involved. Kellen worked with us patiently over the months of preparations and skilfully crafted the itinerary to our needs, accommodating all special requests. She also provided very detailed and objective updates on the situation in the country during the unrest, leaving it to us to take the decision whether to travel or not. We are glad that we decided to proceed with the trip and visited amazing Madagascar. We visited Antananarivo, Kirindy Forest, Morondava and Andasibe national Park. Have seen a lot of lemurs, grand baobabs and even 'dreadful' fossa. We are most thankful to both our guides - Gaetan and Hery, whose company we enjoyed greatly - they are absolute professionals and fantastic persons, we learnt a lot about this beautiful country from them. Can definitely recommend services of Rough Guides to the future visitors to Madagascar. Sergey, Svetlana. Limassol - CYPRUS.”

“Engaged them in planning my Madagascar trip. I explored a few options before using tough guides. I liked them as they are responsive , understand I don’t want to spend too much time in car while want to see lumurs, chameleons, baobobs and Tsingy where we also want to scuba dive. Kellen put me to talk to the local guides and we planned the trip together. The dive shop they arranged for us were good quality dive shop (nosy be scuba), the car is nice , so, they give you back quality stuff. Highly recommend to use them”
