Long-distance services are divided into “passenger” (keleivinis traukinys) and “fast” (greitas); the latter usually require a reservation. In Vilnius and Kaunas public transport is frequent and efficient: buses, trolleybuses and route taxis cover most of the city. The Curonian Spit is best explored by bicycle; bike rentals are inexpensive and plentiful.
