Day01

Arrival in Delhi

Arrive in Delhi and transfer to your hotel, where you meet your local guide and have time to settle in. In the afternoon, begin your India travel experience with a half-day exploration of 17th-century Old Delhi, or Shahjahanabad.

Visit the Red Fort and Jama Masjid, then walk through the lively lanes of Chandni Chowk, ideal for street food tastings and photography.

Continue to Sis Ganj Gurudwara, Sunehri Masjid, Fatehpuri Masjid, and the Digambara Jain Temple and Bird Hospital. The day concludes at Raj Ghat, followed by the Gandhi Darshan and Gandhi Smarak Sangrahalaya, offering a moment of reflection on India’s modern history.

Day02

Sightseeing in Delhi

In the afternoon, explore Delhi’s highlights with a local guide and stroll through colorful bazaar streets, taking in the city’s lively rhythm. In the early evening, transfer to the railway station for an overnight sleeper train to Katni.

Indian train travel is part of the experience, with fresh linen in your compartment and a packed dinner served as the train gently carries you through the night.

Day03

Bandhavgarh Park afternoon game drive

Arrive early in Katni and transfer by road into the Vindhya Hills of Madhya Pradesh to your hotel. In the afternoon, head out for your first visit to Bandhavgarh National Park. Known for its open meadows and one of the highest densities of Bengal tigers in India, the park offers excellent wildlife viewing.

Enjoy a three-hour 4WD game drive with an expert naturalist, tracking tigers, leopards, barasingha, chital, blackbuck, bears, and monkeys.

Day04

Bandhavgarh morning game drive

Set out early for a 4WD game drive in Bandhavgarh with an expert naturalist, when wildlife activity is at its peak and sightings of Bengal tigers are most likely. Watch for chital and barasingha deer, blackbuck, leopards, bears, and monkeys as you move through grassy meadows and dense jungle.

Return to the hotel for lunch and time to relax. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided birdwatching walk around the reserve.

Bandhavgarh National Park

Begin the day with an early morning 4WD game drive led by an expert naturalist, searching for tigers and other predators such as leopards, caracal, and hyena, along with prey species including sambar and nilgai, among forest and open meadows.

In the afternoon, visit a nearby village for an authentic glimpse of local life before returning to your lodge for the night.

Day06

Transfer to Kanha National Park

Today is dedicated to the journey from Bandhavgarh to Kanha National Park, traveling by road through rural Madhya Pradesh. The drive offers changing scenery, from forested hills to small villages and open farmland, providing a quieter view of central India.

Arrive at your lodge in Kanha by afternoon and check in, with time set aside to rest and settle into your surroundings. Kanha’s wide sal forests and meadows are often listed among the best places to visit in India for wildlife, and this unhurried arrival allows you to absorb the atmosphere.

The remainder of the day is free to relax, enjoy the lodge, and prepare for the safaris ahead.

Day07

Kanha National Park game drive

Kanha National Park is one of India’s largest and oldest protected areas, established in 1955 to protect species such as the barasingha. Often compared to the Ngorongoro Crater for its wildlife density, the park’s sal and bamboo forests and open meadows provide excellent opportunities to see tiger, leopard, gaur, wild dog, sloth bear, and several species of deer.

The day includes an early morning 4WD game drive with an expert naturalist. Walking is not permitted inside the park. Return to the lodge for lunch and time to relax before heading out again for an afternoon safari.

Birdwatching in Kanha

Kanha’s sweeping sal forests, set across the Maikal Hills of the Satpura range, support a rich diversity of birdlife and wildlife. Begin with an early morning 4WD game drive led by an expert naturalist.

The afternoon is devoted to focused birdwatching sessions around the reserve. As the day draws to a close, return to your lodge for a relaxed evening and your third night in Kanha.

Day09

Scenic drive to Jabalpur

Enjoy a final relaxed morning at Kanha, with optional wildlife walks or time with a park ranger, tailored to your interests. Later, travel by road to Jabalpur, following the course of the sacred Narmada River.

En route, stop at Omkareshwar to experience the spiritual atmosphere surrounding one of India’s twelve revered Shiva lingams and to learn about the river’s famed parikrama, a pilgrimage that can take up to two years to complete.

In Jabalpur, board an overnight sleeper train to Agra, linking wildlife, culture, and rail travel in a seamless India itinerary.

Day10

Taj Mahal

Arrive in Agra and check in to your hotel, then enjoy a relaxed breakfast before setting out on a guided morning tour of the Red Fort and the Taj Mahal. The 16th-century Red Fort rises above the Yamuna River, with imposing red sandstone halls, royal apartments, and garden pavilions.

Nearby, the white marble mausoleum of Mumtaz Mahal, built between 1631 and 1648 by Shah Jahan, stands as a masterpiece of Mughal artistry and one of India’s most enduring sights.

Day11

Fatehpur Sikri to Ranthambhore

Depart Agra by road for Fatehpur Sikri, then continue on to Bharatpur station for a late afternoon train to Sawai Madhopur, the gateway to Ranthambhore National Park.

At Fatehpur Sikri, explore the remarkably well-preserved Mughal complex, including the Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, Diwan-i-Khas, and Mariam’s House, while learning about court life and the reign of Emperor Akbar.

Ranthambore tiger drive

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in Ranthambore National Park aboard open-roof canters. As one of the earliest reserves established under India’s Project Tiger, Ranthambore offers strong opportunities to see tigers moving among medieval fort ruins and along the edges of its lakes.

Watch also for leopards, blackbuck, hyena, and other antelope species, as well as more than 300 recorded bird species, including peacocks often seen perched on the fort’s crenellations.

Day13

Ranthambore Fort

Explore Ranthambore Fort, dramatically perched above Ranthambore National Park. The climb rewards you with sweeping views across the reserve, and binoculars are useful for spotting wildlife below.

Built by the Chauhan Rajputs around 944, the extensive ruined complex includes palaces, cenotaphs, and red Karauli stone temples dating from the 12th and 13th centuries.

Dedicated to Ganesh, Shiva, and Ramlalaji, the site combines layered history with excellent photographic viewpoints.

Day14

Delhi shopping and leisure

Enjoy an early breakfast before boarding the morning Jan Shatabdi Express to Delhi. Arrive just after midday and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax, explore independent sights, or browse Delhi’s colorful markets.
