Goa is about 580-600 kilometres from Mumbai, depending on the specific route.
The most common road travel route between these two points is National Highway 66 (NH66), formerly known as NH17. This journey usually takes between 12 to 13 hours by car, depending on factors such as traffic, road conditions, and the exact starting and ending points in Mumbai and Goa.
The fastest way to get from Mumbai to Goa is by far the direct flight. The flight time ranges from 1 to 1.5 hours, excluding the time spent at the airport. Other modes of transport will take much longer, from 9 to 14 hours.

The most convenient and fastest way to get from Mumbai to Goa is by flight. You can book a flight from Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM) to Goa International Airport (GOI). Several airlines are operating daily flights, allowing you the flexibility to choose your departure time.
The flight duration is approximately 1.5 hours, making it the fastest option to reach Goa. Airfares can vary depending on the airline, time of booking and class. Booking in advance or participating in airline promotions can help you save money.
Both airports are well connected in terms of transport links: taxis, car hire and pre-arranged hotel transfers are available on arrival in Goa.

Travelling from Mumbai to Goa by train is a scenic and economical option. Two popular train routes are the Mangaluru Exp (train number 12133) and Konkan Kanya Exp (train number 20111).
The Mangaluru Express train departs from Mumbai daily, taking around 10 hours to cover the distance. This train offers a comfortable overnight journey, allowing you to save on accommodation and wake up to the beautiful Goan scenery.
Alternatively, you can take the Konkan Kanya Expexpress train, which also departs from Mumbai daily at 23:05, but the journey time will take longer, around 12 hours and 30 minutes. Although it is a longer journey compared to travelling on the Mangaluru Express, it is still an enjoyable way to explore the lush Konkan region and coastal scenery.

Travelling from Mumbai to Goa by bus is a convenient and economical option. Several bus operators offer daily services connecting these two popular destinations. The distance between Mumbai and Goa by road is approximately 588 km and the journey time can take 12 to 14 hours depending on the route and road conditions.
Luxury buses with sleeper seats are popular and you can sleep comfortably in them. Notable bus operators operating from Mumbai to Goa include VRL, Neeta and Konduskar.
The route itself is very scenic, with buses travelling through picturesque landscapes, quaint villages and along the beautiful Konkan coast. Many buses make short stops at convenient places for refreshments and rest.

By choosing to travel from Mumbai to Goa by car, you are choosing an exciting and flexible way to experience the beautiful scenery along the way. The distance between these two destinations is about 588 kilometres and the journey usually takes about 12 hours.
