The results of The Economist‘s annual Global Liveability Ranking have just been released, revealing the world’s most liveable cities in 2016.

A total of 140 cities were assessed in the report, which looks at five broad categories: stability, healthcare, education, infrastructure and culture and environment.

“Liveability has deteriorated in 29 of the 140 cities surveyed over the last 12 months”, they say, “largely a result of heightened fears over terrorism”. As a result, according to their research, Australian and Canadian cities now account for 6 of the top 10 worldwide.
