Average daily temperatures in November
In November, average daily temperatures in Tanzania remain warm but with more humidity along the coast and in the southern regions.
In the Serengeti and other northern safari areas, daytime highs average around 84°F (29°C), while nights stay mild at about 63°F (17°C). Temperatures are cooler in highland areas like Arusha and Ngorongoro, and they experience more mist and cloud cover. Daily highs hover around 73°F (23°C), and nighttime lows drop to 53°F (12°C).
Zanzibar and the coastal strip become more tropical, with average highs reaching 88°F (31°C) and nighttime lows near 76°F (24°C). The hottest temperatures are recorded in southern regions, such as Ruaha and Nyerere; daytime highs sit between 89°F and 93°F (32°C and 34°C), and the nights stay warm at around 68°F (20°C).
What about the crowds and cost?
Tanzania is a wonderful place to go in November if you want solitude and flexibility. The short rainy season brings a noticeable drop in tourist numbers. Even so, November remains a good month for a Tanzania safari, especially in the Serengeti – one of the best places to visit in Tanzania, where wildlife viewing is still rewarding and the atmosphere is far more relaxed.
Availability for accommodations, safari excursions, and airfares is rarely an issue in November, and all are frequently discounted. Green-season promotions are common from tour operators, and even high-end lodges offer more accessible pricing. All things considered, November delivers excellent value and a more leisurely way to experience the country.
