“What an amazing experience. My husband and I were looking to visit Morocco and were not keen on a self-drive (which I still do not recommend) and also did not want to join in a group. We did have the option of taking a private tour with a South African operator but decided on Tilila Travel through Rough Guides. It turned out to be the best choice. They helped us with the planning of the route, suggested sites and activities, arranged all the local guides, accommodation etc, and even arranged for a Moroccan sim card (which worked better than the E-sim in rural areas). Always very quick to respond to our request and help with the visa applications. Our personal guide Tawfiq met us at the airport, and was on call through the trip, for pickups and transfers, meeting with guides, suggesting restaurants, finding banks, warning us of scams – you name it. We were so pampered. But even better, from the start we told Tawfiq that we wanted to have an authentic experience, and that is what he gave us: - a meal with a Berber farmer and his family; cooking classes in a Marrakech home; a picnic Moroccan style among the Rabat locals, and so many tales and insights. He went beyond the itinerary so that we could experience the true Moroccan culture, away from the more touristic spots. Tawfiq treated us like royalty, and we felt safe in his charge . We will definitely use Tillia and Rough Guides again.”

We spent many hours on the road in conversation about Morocco and life on both sides of the ocean. He had boundless energy and enthusiasm, and always bent over backwards with great local advice for touring, eating, and sightseeing. We all laughed and sang a lot on our long travel days, while we listened to his playlists of Moroccan folk and dance music. He was on call for us in the evenings, and drove us to restaurants and entertainment, taking all of the worry out of navigating the cities. He checked in with us during the journey and we felt that he was truly looking after us. Our driver, Abdel, was kind and friendly. He was flexible and able to make adjustments based on our (ever changing) interests. Abdel was a great guide and support. The local guides in Fez and Marrakech were very knowledgeable and great communicators. We felt very well taken care of. This was a family holiday (including two college age boys), and we all were very happy. This holiday exceeded expectations and it would not have been possible without Tilila Travel.”
