Best accommodation in Latvia

Outside Rīga and Jūrmala, you won’t find many youth hostels, though inexpensive guesthouses and campsites are found in many Latvian towns. Youth hostels are particularly prolific in the centre of Rīga. A number of small-sized, good-value hotels and guesthouses are also available, but rooms are in short supply during peak season and advance reservations are required in summer. In Rīga and Jūrmala there are agencies offering well-priced private rooms (istabas) of a reasonable standard. There’s a handful of decently equipped campsites in Rīga, Jūrmala, Sigulda, Cēsis and Ventspils. Prices are normally quoted in Lats, though some are provided in euros.
