Foinikoudes (Palm Tree) promenade

Lined with hotels, cafés, restaurants and its titular palm trees, Foinikoudes probably shouldn’t work, yet it does. Worthy of a French Riviera resort (albeit one dotted with KFCs and McDonald’s) it radiates relaxation for both residents and holiday-makers. Try it on a Sunday evening, when it is thronged with Cypriots of all ages – family groups, children chasing after each other, flirting teenagers, old folk taking the air, as well as a fair contingent of visitors.
