We all want to get away. To find a refuge we can retreat to for peace, quiet and solitude; a place where our mind can breathe.
This was the driving force behind Zach Klein and his friends when they started up their Cabin Porn Tumblr blog. “Inside each of us is a home ready to be built”, they say. “It takes a supply of ambition and materials to construct a cabin, but the reward is handsome: a shelter for yourself somewhere quiet, and a place to offer warm hospitality to friends.”
What began as a personal project, to help them find inspiration for their own perfect retreat, has now morphed into a beautiful hardback coffee-table book. Full of romantic photos of all kinds of cabins, from purpose-built to salvaged structures, it’ll have you hankering after your own piece of peace and quiet. Here are nine of our favourites.
