Day01

Lake Manyara safari and Ngorongoro highlands

Begin your Tanzania wildlife tour with a morning briefing before driving to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact park known for rich wildlife and striking scenery. From your vehicle’s open roof, watch flamingos tint the lake pink and look for some of the many bird species found here.

Explore lush forests alive with playful monkeys, open plains dotted with giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and wildebeests, and acacia woodlands often visited by elephants and lions. After an unhurried game drive and picnic lunch, continue toward the cooler Ngorongoro highlands, the next memorable stop in your Tanzania travel experience.

Day02

Ngorongoro Crater safari and Big Five viewing

Start early and drive into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, one of the best places to visit in Tanzania for dramatic scenery and exceptional wildlife. Descend into the vast Ngorongoro Crater, where open grasslands, acacia forests, and soda lakes create a remarkable natural sanctuary.

Explore the caldera in search of the Big Five, along with Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, mountain reedbucks, spotted hyenas, rare wild dogs, and prolific birdlife. Pause for a picnic lunch inside the crater before continuing with an afternoon game drive and a scenic return to Karatu.

Start as early as possible for Ngorongoro Crater. The morning light is beautiful, and wildlife is often more active before the day warms up. Bring a warm layer for the descent from the highlands, as it can feel surprisingly cool, then keep binoculars ready once you reach the crater floor. This is one of the best chances to spot several species in a single drive.

Day03

Tarangire safari and return to Arusha

After breakfast, your Tanzania wildlife tour continues to Tarangire National Park on the famed Northern Circuit. Endless grasslands, giant baobab trees, the Tarangire River, and seasonal swamps create a dramatic setting for your final safari experience.

On your game drive, watch for northern Tanzania’s largest elephant herds, along with giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, dik-diks, waterbucks, warthogs, reedbucks, buffalo, zebras, and wildebeests, often shadowed by lions and occasionally leopards.

In the late afternoon, return to Arusha, where your tour comes to a close. Extensions to Tanzania’s coast, Zanzibar, or additional safari regions can be tailor-made on request.
