04/09/2023“Hi Team, Yes we did have a great time in Oman, thanks. Overall we were very happy with our guide and itinerary but we did make some changes on the go, thanks to our guide Mohammed who has been very flexible and proactive. He was regularly in touch with the local agency and it was good to have direct contact with them whenever needed. At some point there was a mix-up in one of the hotels where they basically said they didn't have a room for our guide but in the end it was resolved. Also in some other cases it wasn't clear if some of the activities or tickets were included or not so we had to double check. I'd suggest better communication between the agency and the guide on these items. Also in the pdf doc I had some of the activities were vague eg city tour it didn't specify what we were going to see in Muscat, hence the tickets were extra, I would suggest specifying what is planned so it is clear which entrance fees are included and which aren't. Same for the turtle watching tickets, it wasn't clear from the pdf if tickets were included or not. In general regarding the itinerary some days were very light, or better it was left to our own initiative or the guide's to add some stops or activities along the route. This worked very well in our case but it won't be same with people who like to have everything planned in advance or who like to stick to the itinerary as is. In particular I refer to 7th and 11th September for example, but not only. Mohammed was always professional and proactive, he's an experienced guide and knew how and when to give us the right information. It was like travelling with an old friend, exactly what we wanted. It was also very kind of him to let us experience the hospitality of the Omani people whenever we had the chance. We felt like he genuinely wanted us to enjoy our visit and have fun during our stay. We would recommend him to any of our friends planning to visit and we wouldn't hesitate to have him as our guide again should we come back anytime soon.
