Parliament Palace

The Parliament Palace (Palatul Parlamentului) – also known as Casa Nebunului (The “Madman’s House”) – is supposedly the second-largest administration building in the world. Started in 1984 – but still not complete despite the toil of 100,000 workers – the building contains 1100 rooms and a nuclear shelter, and now houses the Romanian Parliament and a conference centre. Guided tours in English start to the right of the entrance as you face the building. You must bring your passport to gain entry.
