Rough Guides helped tailor a month-long trip to India wbetween ourselves and an Indian based tour company. All communication went through the Rough guides portal, a rough guides agent and the Indian tour company giving us confidence in the choice of tour company. As an added security blanket the payments to the tour company were managed by rough guides through their online secure payment system. I would definitely use Rough Guides again for future trips.

Right from our initial booking enquiry with Ravi, through to our travels in Kerala, our experience with was smooth, practical and tailored so well to our individual needs. All our guides on the our trip were excellent, always on time as arranged, full of local knowledge, and passionate delivering their tours to us. Our trip included such a variety of experiences, from walking city tours, a street food tour, houseboat stay and hiking a mountain. Special mentions to tour guides Saji, our fabulous guide in Kochi, also Sunil in Kochi, and Muthu in Madurai. As well as our guide in Kumarakom whose knowledge was fabulous in explaining all about the Backwaters and the local area. We have to highlight our fabulous driver, Roy, who greeted us each morning with a wonderful smile and drove us safely through India’s mad and busy weaving traffic! He seamlessly coordinated with all our guides to meet on each day and made our trip a real pleasure. Thank you, we will recommend you on to friends and family, and hope to use you again.

Rough Guides planned and flawlessly executed my trip to India (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur). We were able to visit 7 world heritage sites in 3 days. We had a driver and private car for 3 days, and a different local guide for each of the 3 cities. Rough Guides arranged all transportation, guides, admissions, and 5-star ITC hotels in each city.

Our experience with Rough Guides for our trip to India was excellent. The logistics were seamless, and the staff—representatives, guides, and drivers—were professional and friendly throughout. The hotels mostly exceeded our expectations, the restaurant recommendations were spot on, and the itinerary was carried out smoothly, with no major issues. Overall, we were very satisfied with the service and would highly recommend them.

I can only give praise for the service we received during our private tour by car of northern India. Irrespective of the time (sometimes very early in the morning) the driver and a guide were awaiting us with a roomy, clean car. The choice of hotels was generally very good, except one. It can happen. And we took it with a smile considering our overall favourable experience. I can only recommend this company for all it did to make our trip a success.

All the hotels were comfortable, clean and serviced. We were happy to have stayed in all of them and have no complaints. Your organization & attention to detail was outstanding. This trip exceeded our expectations and one of the best we have ever been on in 40 years of travel. Thank you active Anukriti you have made over holidays one we will never forget. We will be back.

Our drivers and guides were all excellent and looked after us very well. A special thank you to Raj Kumar in Kerala and Bala in Tamil Nadu. Their driving skills and patience in the chaotic traffic were very impressive and it was a pleasure to spend time with them. Steve and I both look forward to our next trip to India. Next time in the north maybe........so we could pop in and say Namaste!
