Day01

Arrival in Salta

Arrive at Buenos Aires International Airport and connect on a domestic flight to Salta, continuing your Argentina travel journey in the northwest.

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy a private four hour city tour with breakfast. Visit the Cathedral, San Francisco Church and the High Mountain Archaeological Museum, home to the Llullaillaco Children.

Ascend San Bernardo Hill for panoramic views, then continue to San Lorenzo village and its crafts market. End the day with a traditional dinner at La Casona del Molino Peña, featuring live folk music and Argentine wine.

Quebrada de Humahuaca

Begin the day traveling through the lush Yungas and along La Cornisa, stopping in San Salvador de Jujuy for refreshments. Continue into the UNESCO-listed Quebrada de Humahuaca, known for its dramatic landscapes and cultural heritage.

In Purmamarca, stroll through the colorful open-air market and visit the colonial church. In Tilcara, explore the pre-Inca ruins of Pukara de Tilcara.

Salinas Grandes bike ride and picnic

After breakfast, ascend the Cuesta de Lipán from Purmamarca into the high altitude Puna plateau. Arrive at Salinas Grandes, a vast white salt plain ideal for walking, photography, and a scenic bike ride across the crystalline surface.

Accompanied by a local guide, learn about the history of the salt flats and meet communities who have harvested salt here since the mid twentieth century. You may even try hand-extracting salt yourself.

Enjoy a picnic lunch after the ride, then return to Purmamarca for time to relax.

Salta to Mendoza

Enjoy a private transfer from your Salta hotel to the local airport, followed by a short flight to Mendoza. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to your hotel, with time to settle in and receive personalized recommendations for the afternoon.

Uco Valley Wine Country

Explore the high altitude vineyards of the Uco Valley, a region that links Salta, Mendoza, and Buenos Aires through its distinctive wine culture. Visit Corazón del Sol’s 17-acre estate at the foothills of the Andes and sample bottled, tank, and barrel wines while learning how altitude shapes each grape variety.

Aconcagua adventure

Drive southwest from Mendoza through Cacheuta and Potrerillos, enjoying sweeping views of the Cordón del Plata and the Potrerillos Dam. Cross scenic tunnels and bridges on the way to Uspallata, where you pause for panoramic views of the surrounding valley.

Continue to the iconic Puente del Inca, then enter Aconcagua Provincial Park to secure permits and begin an easy one-hour walk to the Laguna de los Horcones viewpoint. From here, take in dramatic views of Aconcagua’s South Wall and summit.

The day concludes with a relaxed mountain lunch in Las Cuevas, near the Chilean border.

Mendoza to Buenos Aires

Day trip to Colonia del Sacramento
