Louisville’s restaurants cater to all tastes, though downtown prices are fairly high. Fronted by several outlandish sculptures, the Kentucky Center for the Arts, 501 W Main St (w http://www.kentuckycenter.org), is the main venue for high culture, while the Actors’ Theatre of Louisville, 316 W Main St (w http://www.actorstheatre.org), has a national reputation for its new productions. The two-mile strip around Bardstown Road and Baxter Avenue is punctuated by fun bars; the best gay clubs are on the eastern edge of downtown.
