Arrival and information

Tiradentes might have a placid and timeless air during the week, but it gets lively at weekends, as the bars and guesthouses fill up with visitors from Rio and Belo Horizonte. For such a small place, Tiradentes is well connected to other cities, with several buses each day to both Rio and São Paulo, seven buses to Belo Horizonte and an hourly service to neighbouring São João del Rei. The efficient tourist office at Largo das Forras 71 (Mon–Fri 9am–12.30pm & 1.30–5.30pm, Sat & Sun 9am–5pm) provides helpful advice with accommodation, excursions and bus schedules.
