Switzerland’s main airports are at Geneva (gva.ch), Zürich (zurich-airport.com) and Basel (euroairport.com). Travelling to Switzerland from the continent, it’s most likely you’ll arrive by train. Services run from Paris to Geneva, Lausanne, Basel, Bern and Zürich. Geneva is also reached by trains from Lyon, southern France and Barcelona. Travelling via Strasbourg, or southwestern Germany, you’ll probably arrive at Basel. Zürich is the main hub for trains from Bavaria, Austria, Italy and Eastern Europe. The most scenic way to arrive is by ferry, crossing Lake Maggiore from Italy, Lake Geneva from France or Lake Constance from Germany.
