A gentle curve of beach at the far end of the peninsula, Playa Ancón has put the area on the tourist map and has an encouragingly natural feel, with shrubs and trees creeping down to the shoreline. As one of one of the largest and longest beaches on the south coast of Cuba, there’s more than enough fine-grained golden sand here to keep a small army of holidaymakers happy. There’s also decent snorkelling and diving in the waters and reefs around these shores.
