Some 4km northwest of Katima, the kilometre-wide bridge at Wenela that spans the Zambezi marks the border between Namibia and Zambia (daily 7am–6pm). A taxi from Katima to the border costs N$20. If you’re driving a private vehicle into Namibia or Zambia, the usual cross-border charges apply. To enter Zambia, unless you’re from Ireland, you’ll need a visa, which from most EU countries, or from the US, Canada or Australia costs US$50, payable in US dollars – you’ll need to change your money before you reach the border. From the border, you can easily hop in a shared taxi to Sesheke, a few kilometres away, from where there is reliable onward transport by bus to Livingstone (and Victoria Falls) and Lusaka.
