When planning a trek in the Saghro, bear in mind the harshness of the terrain and the considerable distances involved. With the exception of the Vallée des Oiseaux, off the Boumalne–Iknioun road, which is a feasible destination for day-trips (see Wildlife-watching near Boumalne), this is not an area for short treks, nor does it have much infrastructure; accommodation is normally a mix of camping, gîtes and chez l’habitant (village homes).
