The Jungle

Casa de Fierro

The unusual, majestic Casa de Fierro (Iron House) was restored just a few years ago and is hard to miss with its silvery sides glinting in the afternoon sunshine. Designed by Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 Paris exhibition and later shipped in pieces to Iquitos and reconstructed here in the 1890s by one of the local rubber barons, these days it's home to a quality restaurant located on the upper storey.
