The largest of Arequipa's museums, meanwhile, the Museo Arqueológico de la Universidad de San Agustín, has good collections of everything from mummies and replicas of Chavín stones to Nasca, Huari and Inca ceramics as well as colonial paintings and furniture. It is stuck out in the university campus along Avenida Independencia (by the corner with Victor Morales), at the intersection between the calles Alvarez Thomas and Palacio Viejo. Call ahead to arrange an appointment.
