The seventeenth-century La Casa del Moral has been restored and refurbished with period pieces. Its most engaging feature is a superb stone gateway, carved with motifs that are similar to those on Nasca ceramics – puma heads with snakes growing from their mouths – surrounding a Spanish coat of arms. The mansion's name – nothing to do with ethics – comes from an ancient mora tree, still thriving in the central patio.
