Getting Around

A good way to get your bearings and see some major sites on arrival is to take the Bus Tour, a daily circular route city tour (office at Av Parra 373 054/258133; ticket costs $10 and you can hop on and off) with a yellow bus which starts at the Plaza de Armas and includes other stops such as Puente Grau, Yanahuara and Carmen Alto. It's easy enough to walk around the city centre, but we've detailed available city tours, should you want to give your feet a rest. If you want a taxi it's easy to hail one anywhere in the city; rides within the centre cost about $1.20.
