Housed in an old and perfectly preserved colonial building – the Palacio de la Real Audiencia – the Museo Histórico Nacional, crammed with eclectic and often fascinating relics of the past, including furniture, sewing machines and ladies' clothes – all of it fun to look at, but too chaotic to be really illuminating.
