    You'll probably spend most time in the city centre, which is entirely walkable, but for journeys further afield you'll find public transport cheap, safe and abundant. For trips along the main east– west axis formed by the Alameda and its extensions, the metro is quickest. The city and suburbs are also served by thousands of buses, while colectivos offer a quick way out of the centre into surrounding districts. Regular taxis are numerous and inexpensive, and are in many cases the most convenient way to get about.
