Getting Around

By train

Only three daily trains pull out of Santiago's grand Estación Central, heading for Chillàn, Concepción and Temuco. The daytime trains offer two standards of compartment – economía and salón – while the overnight trains to Temuco and Concepción offer the added choice of cama and dormitorio, the latter in two-berth cabins in a classic 1920s carriage.
