1 El Cangrejo Dieciocho 155 Basic, cheap café food, but with a particularly fine empanada de mariscos.

Casa Mer Costanera and Errázuriz Reasonably priced, superbly cooked dishes including steak stuffed with prawns and mushrooms, and a wide range of seafood, all served in a large dining room with chunky wood furniture and large panoramic windows overlooking the sea.
3 Kurantón Prat 94 All kinds of excellent dishes, meat and fish, on offer in cosy surroundings, but the speciality is the eponymous curanto, a meat, fish and shellfish stew. Relatively high prices but service and quality to justify it
4 Pastelería Pederson Lord Cochrane 470 Enjoy unbeatable harbour views as you tuck into a delicious, reasonably priced lunch or once. The küchen are unforgettable, especially the raspberry cream cake (in season).
5 La Pincoya Prat 61 One of the best places to eat curanto and ceviche, with a family-run atmosphere, low prices and excellent service.
6 Retro Pub Maipú 615 Decent burgers and pasta as well as Tex-Mex dishes are served in this dark bar which turns into a lively nightspot.
7 El Trauco Blanco 515 at Prat A tourist-oriented seafood restaurant near the market, with garrulous waiters and decent food, at slightly higher prices than similar places.
