The Museo de Metales Preciosas has a small but impressive hoard of Inca and Tiwanaku gold ornaments, housed in a steel vault. Informative displays explain the techniques used by pre-Columbian goldsmiths, and the delicate skill evident in the work makes it obvious why these indigenous artisans were so quickly enrolled into producing religious artwork by the Spanish.
