The Beatles Revolution Lounge Mirage, 3400 Las Vegas Blvd S 702-692-8383 www.thebeatlesrevolutionlounge.com Once you get past the somewhat silly claim that this ultra-lounge truly reflects an artistic collaboration between the Beatles and the Cirque du Soleil, you can enjoy the psychedelic lightshow and fab 1960's décor. DJ sets most nights, live indie bands Tues. Opening time: Mon-Sat

Horse-a-Round Bar Circus Circus, 2880 Las Vegas Blvd S 702/734-0410. Tiny but truly bizarre, this perfect replica of a children's merry-go-round overlooks the clowns and acrobats of Circus Circus's Midway. Opening time: Fri & Sat 4.30pm– midnight

House of Blues Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd S 702/632-7600 www.hob.com The Strip's premier live-music venue, the voodoo-tinged, folk-art-decorated House of Blues has a definite, but not exclusive, emphasis toward blues, R&B, and the like. Typical prices range from $35 up to $100 for stars like Aretha Franklin.

Liquidity Luxor, 3900 Las Vegas Blvd S 702/262-4591 Very blue, very modern, water-themed ultra-lounge in the center of Luxor, with waterfalls both real and virtual cascading from the ceiling.

Nine Fine Irishmen New York– New York, 3790 Las Vegas Blvd S 702/740-6463 The affinity between New York and all things Irish finds expression in this wood-paneled pub, shipped from Ireland and featuring Irish musicians, singers, and dancers nightly.

rumjungle Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd S 702/632-7408 You have to run a gauntlet of go-go dancers and volcanic gas jets just to get into this bar-restaurant-nightclub. Inside, the leopardskin-clad staff serve well-priced cocktails, plus a vast menu of rums. It's too loud to do anything more than watch, or join, the dancefloor action.
