Papago Park
In Papago Park at the south end of Scottsdale, the fascinating Desert Botanical Garden is filled with amazing cactuses and desert flora from around the world. Prime specimens include spineless "totem pole" cactuses from the Galápagos Islands, and "living stone" plants from South Africa. Separate enclaves are devoted to butterflies – at their best in August and September – and hummingbirds, of which Arizona boasts fifteen indigenous species.
