Arrival
The colossal Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (
1-800/897-1910), the busiest passenger airport in the US, is ten miles south of downtown Atlanta, just inside I-285 ("the perimeter"). It marks the southern terminus of the south line of the subway, a 15min ride from downtown, and is also served by the Atlanta Link shuttle buses (daily 6am– midnight; $16.50 to downtown;

Atlanta's Amtrak station, 1688 Peachtree St NW, is at the north end of Midtown, just under a mile north of the nearest subway station, Arts Center; catch a cab or bus #23 to connect. Greyhound buses arrive south of downtown at 232 Forsyth St, near the Garnett Street subway station.
Atlanta's principal visitor center is downtown in the Underground Mall (50 Upper Alabama St) at Pryor and Atlanta streets (Mon– Sat 10am–6pm, Sun noon–6pm;

Other visitor centers are located in the Lenox Square mall in Buckhead (Tues– Sat 11am–5pm, Sun noon–4pm), which also holds an AtlanTIX booth, and in the North Terminal at the airport (Mon– Fri 9am–9pm, Sat 9am–6pm, Sun 12.30–6pm).
