Twin Cities International Airport lies about ten miles south of Minneapolis in suburban Bloomington. Super Shuttle Minneapolis ( 612/827-7777) takes travellers between the airport and major hotels for around $13, while some lodgings provide their own transportation. Taxis to Minneapolis will set you back close to $40. You can also take the new light rail system ( 612/373-3333) into the city (daily 4am–1am: $1.75–2.25). Amtrak is midway between Minneapolis and St Paul at 730 Transfer Rd, off University Avenue. The Greyhound terminal is in a convenient downtown location at 950 Hawthorne Ave ( 612/371-3325).
