Downtown

Downtown Dallas is a paean to commerce. Studding the elegant modern skyline, many of its skyscrapers are landmarks in themselves. The most noteworthy is Fountain Place Tower, 1445 Ross Ave. Designed by I.M. Pei, its sharp edges are reminiscent of a blue crystal. At night, two miles of green argon tubing delineate the 72-story Bank of America building at Lamar and Main, while the Reunion Tower, 300 Reunion Blvd, on the west side of downtown next to the Amtrak station, looks like a giant microphone. For big views of the Big D, head to the 40th floor of the Chase Tower at 2200 Ross Ave (Mon– Fri 8am–5pm; free).
