Downtown Orlando, though often overlooked, has a large, eclectic and much less sanitised crop of restaurants, bars and clubs than the theme parks of Disney and Universal and makes a good destination for a night out. Most of the after-dark action focuses along Orange Avenue where The Social is well-known for live alternative rock, grunge and the like; Tabu is a large-scale dance club in an old theatre; and Pulse is a popular gay nightspot.
