Arrival
Those travelling to Chicago by bus or train arrive just west of the Loop, within a stone's throw of public transportation and dozens of hotels. While flights touch down at O'Hare and Midway airports in the northwest and southwest corners of Chicago, respectively, efficient El trains will take you downtown within a half hour to forty five minutes. Taking a taxi from the airport won't save you much time and can be expensive, especially if you're going it alone. Alternatively, airport shuttles will cost less but tend to make multiple stops on the journey downtown.
