The real draw: the cheapest a/c beds in town (M$100), in big single-sex dorms, and a few huge private rooms (Price: M$250-350). Continental breakfast included.

Every room has a terrace or balcony, and the beach is one of the best of those facing the bay. A very good deal for families or groups. Price: M$1100-1500

13 Suites Girasol Paseo Kukulcán Km 9.5 998/883-5045 The entry and public areas of this condo high-rise don't look promising, but the rooms are surprisingly large and clean, and all have kitchenettes. The pool is nothing special, but the beach out front is gorgeous. Price: M$750-1100
