Plaza Hidalgo
The little Plaza Hidalgo is atraditional, shady place, with old colonial buildings set around a statue of Miguel Hidalgo. The original Palacio Municipal, now superseded by the modern building, is here, acting today as an occasional cultural centre. Otherwise, the pavement cafés make a pleasant stop-off – though food is expensive. Pedestrianized shopping streets fan out behind, crowded with window-gazing locals.
