Museo de Historia Mexicana

    Opening time: Tues– Sun 10am–7pm

    Price: M$12, free on Tues

    Address: Dr Coss 445 Sur

Several blocks north of MARCO lies one of the city's best newer museums, the Museo de Historia Mexicana, another bold architectural statement, though save for the double-helix staircase, a less successful one. All the ingredients appear to be there, though – displays on Mexico's ancient, colonial and modern civilizations, an extensive array of traditional costumes, interactive computer consoles and the story of the Revolution, along with associated paraphernalia. Should your patience with Mexican history wear thin, you might rent one of the roofed paddleboats (M$35/hr) below the museum's plaza to saunter about the huge fountain pool, or buy some bread and feed the schools of rather large fish which swim therein.
