Ten rooms are open to the public at Emily Carr House, two blocks from the Inner Harbour. This was the early home of British Columbia's best-known artist, born here during a blizzard in 1871 in the old wooden bed still visible in what would become her bedroom. The building was constructed in 1864, and has been painstakingly restored to its former state. Fans of the artist may want to pay homage, but the works on the walls are copies.
